Work Camping Near Yellowstone vs. Camp Hosting: What Is the Difference?

These two terms get mixed up a lot, so let’s clear it up.

Work camping, also called workamping, is a big umbrella. It means any kind of work an RVer does while living on the road. Some work camping jobs pay by the hour. Some are a trade. Some are seasonal jobs at parks, farms, or stores. If you’re new to this way of living and working, Workamper News is a helpful place to learn more.

Camp hosting is one kind of work camping. A camp host helps run a campground. Most camp hosts work a set number of hours each week and get a site in return.

That’s what we offer. Our camp host jobs near Yellowstone are a site-for-work exchange. You work 24 hours a week, and we give you a full hookup RV site with water, electric, and sewer. This is not a paid job, and we want you to know that up front. We are still a new park and building up the business, our hope is to turn some of these positions into a paid position but we are not there yet. 2027 will be our third season but only our second full season open.
